‘Jungle Book’ Tops Foreign Box Office With $96 Million


The Jungle Book” dominated the global box office, racking up $96 million this weekend and pushing the Disney film’s worldwide haul to $528.5 million.

The live-action version of the Rudyard Kipling stories played particularly well in China, where it has earned $97 million, and in India, where it has become the highest-grossing Hollywood release with $28.8 million. India tends to be dominated by Bollywood releases, so it’s rare for Western films to do big business in the country.
